Under the pressure of nature!

NATURE MEETS ART!

Express your ecological wonder in beautiful lino print! By attentively observing,

a different view unfolds with which you can see the world. In this workshop Janne (Janne

unfolds) and Fiana (screen printing studio corvo) join forces for a unique journey of discovery and

art workshop at the Biotoop, in Haren. Field ecologist Janne Ouwehand takes us along

wonder tour in the green oasis of the Biotope to share her knowledge and view of nature, and

to teach you to look through ecological glasses. Janne is an expert in making nature observations,

observing and researching relationships and patterns in nature (including birds and...

mushrooms). This tour serves as inspiration for the 2nd part of the workshop, that place

in an inspiring old laboratory room. Visual artist Fiana teaches us the finer points

tricks of printing techniques and linocut. Here we start working on acquired images of nature,

patterns and materials to be translated into 1-2 special (black/white) prints under the printing press. How

create a strong composition and simplify a complex world into a powerful image. Er

can be printed directly with textures and materials from nature, and there is one for everyone

lino block available, to discover how a suitable cutting technique can create your impression of nature

linoleum can depict. At the end of this workshop you will look at nature from a different perspective

around you, you have learned how to depict this, and you take 1-2 print works of art on a heavy

quality paper for your wall to take home.

There is a maximum of 20 participants, so book your ticket quickly (workshop starts from 10

persons). This workshop is suitable for all levels. We do not lay large ones during the tour

distances, but if you have difficulty walking, please let us know. Do you already have something from nature?

that really inspires you, and what you would like to use in a print, feel free to bring it with you. Also a

(telephone) camera can be useful to capture images during the ecological wonder tour.
