What is the hand grip method?

The hand pinching technique is an age-old technique in ceramics where you pinch the clay with your hands and fingers and form it into the desired shape. During the workshop you will be guided step by step in the process of building your own created artwork using this technique.

You start by kneading and preparing the clay, after which you slowly and carefully start to pinch and shape the clay into the desired shape of your mug, plate or vase. You can play with the thickness of the walls, the shape and…
