About the event

Breakfast in style every morning! This is now possible with your own breakfast set. During this workshop we will make a cup, plate or bowl and a spoon. Various techniques will be discussed such as hand pinching and slab rolling. During the workshop you can choose between black and natural clay. Extra cool: knead these two together and get a marble effect! We only work with our hands (no potter's wheel) and therefore you will see that all the items you make during the workshop fit together. After all, they are all created by your own hands! The items are glazed with high-quality glaze, which is also food safe. So that you can safely eat and drink from your own cool set.

What is the hand grip method?

The hand pinching technique is an age-old technique in ceramics where you pinch the clay with your hands and fingers and form it into the desired shape. During the workshop you will be guided step by step in the process of building your mug using this technique.

You start by kneading and preparing the clay, then slowly and carefully start to squeeze and shape the clay into the desired shape. You can play with the thickness of the walls, the shape and the handle to create a shape that suits you.
